  1. Wishlist-ACCENTING TAGS

I think the option would be beneficial for me in the area of witnesses. I have a number of people that it seems like all they did was witness things and their entries just blend together when I see them. I would especially like the feature on census entries. I don't seem to have as big a problem with the principals, but the addition of an accent type feature would help there too.
  2. Wishlist

This would be a great feature to have!
  3. Well said! You've said it all.
  4. Wishlist-Copy Tag

    Yes
  5. Maybe it shouldn't, but it does.
  6. WG Website - Reviews for the M. G.

I don't believe that page has been there for quite awhile. You probably need to try: TMG5 Review. I'm pretty sure the format was changed from HTML to PDF during last winter or early this past spring.
  7. Wish List

But since you, or anyone else, could have dozens of "Note" tags attached to a person, which of the "Note" tags would TMG select? It would appear that, even though you are talking about hundreds (thousands) of entries, you are going to have to edit the tag for each person in some manner. Even if the edit was to tell TMG which tag to use there would still be manual intervention.
  8. Wish List

But if I've got 100 people I want to make a mass change to and those people have a varying number of tags -- say some have birth, marriage and death, while others have many tags like birth, marriage, death, 3 different occupation, 5 different census, 13 child, 3 LDS, will, probate, etc. -- how would the program know which tags to apply the mass change to? Would it apply them to ALL existing tags? I would hope not because I doubt if all the tags I mentioned are covered in any single book. I don't think the programming problem lies in making a mass change to everything, the problem lies in determining exactly what the user wants changed. About the only way that I could see it working is to have a tag selection screen for every individual in the focus group. That would be a nightmare and accomplish nothing more than what is already available by making the changes individually. I'll admit there are times I would like to have the ability to say select 10 people and add the same source/citation for birth at once. The problem with that is the people have to be in the project, so why didn't I enter the source/citation when I had the opportunity?
  9. Board Statistics

The following was taken from Board Statistics at 9:46PM EDT: Members Online Today: 107 107 Members Online For September 28th, 2005. Most Online In One Day Is 113 On September 28th, 2005. It looks like the Board is predicting that there will be 113 Members Online today. Pretty good if it works.
  10. Board Statistics

You are correct. I was enjoying sitting here and watching the predictions. I got to wondering if we could harness that power and somehow make sporting event predictions we could make bets on!
  11. Board Statistics

Gotta love it Jeff! We are growing by leaps and bounds!
  12. Don't pay for printed TMG manual!

If there wasn't a version number on the title page, I wonder if this post would have been made?
  13. Changing Newsletter subscription address

Hm-m-m-m-m-m I think I'd Unsubscribe if that was possible and then I'd Subscribe again using my new email address.

We're probably going to be Ex Members if we don't do something a bit more productive!

John, your request obviously didn't work. I've got to believe it's all done auto-magically. When some counter (not a real person though) hits the magic number of 100 that posters name is added to a list. I feel certain it could be controlled, but it probably isn't worth the effort since the number of people affected would be minimal. So-o-o-o-o, enjoy being a Senior Member and all the benefits that come with it! What? You didn't know about the benefits? My mistake. Things like the huge salary increase you got, the free coffee, parking right up front with the big boys, extra vacation, and all those things.

At my current rate I figure I should be a Senior Member around August of 2008! A tip of my hat to all the Senior Members!
  17. Dunaway, Tom

http://www.l-dunaway.net/ My daughter (Lisa) and I work on the site together. While my wife (Gert) seems to be interested only in hearing about some of it and some of the history behind the scenes. Sometimes it drives me crazy. We follow all family lines and all branches, regardless of where it takes us. Yes, our lines really do go from Royalty to Rogues! We also have a page For Kids that my daughter maintains. It's a list of links of places she has actually visited with my grandson or links that have some special value For Kids. The For Kids page and a couple others were done with FrontPage, but there are so few that it's hardly worth mentioning. We hope you enjoy your visit as much as we enjoy working on our Family Tree!
  18. Board Statistics

We get to see the Board Statistics for the past 15 minutes and for the current day, but is there a way to show even more statistics? For example: 1. Could we see the past weeks totals by day of the week? 2. Could we see "Records"? (What was the most total Members in 1 day and when did it occur.) 3. Could we see "Records"? (What was the most total Members and Anonymous Members in 1 day and when did it occur.) 4. Could we see "Records"? (What was the most total Members, Anonymous Members and Guests in 1 day and when did it occur.) 5. Could we see a running list of totals by month? Not that I'm asking for all of these, but, for some reason, I am interested in seeing more than just numbers that reset at midnight each night. The first time I come on each day I find myself wondering what the previous day's totals were. Yeah, I know, call me a nut, but it might be interesting.
  19. Board Statistics

It's gotta be that 2-1/2 year old grandson of mine! Amazing how much kid I have left in me.
  20. Board Statistics

Vera, its nothing really earth shattering. I think that the additional statistics might provide some kind of closure (not sure that's the word I want to use) for those of us that look at them. When I come on in the morning I find myself wondering what the final total was for the previous day. I noticed a couple day's ago that the total was well over 100 (the last I saw it I think it was over 120 or 130) and I wondered what the final total was. Then I wondered if it set some kind of record. And then I started wondering what kind of monthly totals were available and how the current month was doing compared to previous months. And then, and then, and then I woke up! It was all a dream! It was then that I knew...
