Pat, did you ever get this resolved? I seem to have the same problem. My file was a bit larger with 143 people but the wait period ran over an hour before I terminated it. Thanks.

I am trying to generate a List of People to Print Preview. However, the first time that I run the report it gives me an error message that "No Output Columns Were Specified" and the Report screen closes. If I run the report again, without a single change, it works fine. Next time, "No Output Columns Were Specified" again, and so on. The output columns are: Name Group: Last, Given ID Birth Group: Date Any ideas on this?

I have the same problem. Did yu ever resolve the issue?

Problem solved. There were a number of mildly corrupted files in the project that Wholly Genes Tech Support repaired. I have now successfully restored my project to TMG 7. Thanks.

I raised the question of database size on the TMG Mailing List and got a reply that a user had successfully restored files of 250,000 and 75,000. So it appears that it may be some other issue than simply size.

I tried deleting the CDX files in the new TMG7 Directory but got the same results. Eventually the project will open but all the Married Names are gone, plus some complete people are blank.

I have installed TMG 7 but when I try to restore from the backup of my TMG 6 file I get the following message: MORE_N.FPT is missing or invalid 4156 TESTTHUMB (the file is preceded by a directory which I didn't record; my file name is MORE If I click ignore, it continues and then I get MORE_G.FPT is missing or invalid 66 FIX_52 Another ignore gets MORE_E.FPT is missing or invalid 94 FIX_52 When the restore was completed, I noticed some diffences between the TMG 6 and 7 databases. Some of people seemd to be missing in TMG 7. I compared the Project Information and found People: TMG6 and TMG7 both have 72,032 Names: TMG6 has 98624 while TMG7 only has 41,367. All other information was identical but, probablu due to the different number of names, my filters came up with different results. I restored the same file to TMG6 without a problem.

I have had similar occurrences with History Tags when I use the Copy Person feature. The citations on the original and the copy (which is actually the same tag with both as witnesses) disappear. Anyone have a fix?

Did you ever solve the Ctl F3 problem? I just bought a new computer and have the same problem. F3 is fine but not CTl F3. Thanks

This is not a major problem but it is a bit of a pain. It has happened for some time but is intermittent. Sometimes when I click to Add a Mother, I instead get the standard Add Unrelated process and the screen asking for the Sex of the New person comes up. If I exit the screen and then exit TMG, when I restart the program, instead of being on the last person (i.e. the person who's mother I wanted to add), TMG opens on person #1. I can click on the Last Person Button and return to where I was, and resume and eveything works fine, sometimes for days. I am running TMG 6.09. I recently had the computer upgraded (but it did this before as well) and am running on a AMD Athlon 30000+ with 1Gb RAM.

I don't know what they did but Tech Support fixed my file and Optimize works now. java script:emoticon('') smilie

Just since I installed 6.08. It would take a few minutes with 6.07 and earlier but not hours. I've run VFI and it was fine, perhapr 5-10 minutes.

I am running TMG 6.08 and I recently tried to Optimize. I have 66,000 names in my project but it took just over 16 hours. I tired again today and left it running while I was out; six hours later it was only at 33% completed. I am running a AMD K7 2500+ with 1Gbyte of 333Mhz DDR RAM. I have Windows 2000Pro and there were no other programs running at the time. I thought that it might be the machine, so I copied the project to my laptop. It's been running for about half an hour and has now reached 2% completion. That's not much difference in the speed. The laptop is a COMPAQ Athlon XP processor 2800+ with 512MB DDRSDRAM running Windows XP. Anybody else experiencing anything similar? Anybody know how to resolve this problem? Thanks.

John, I am not sure that I understand all your comments. There has been no change to the computer hardware or software that I know of, other than updates to Windows (2000Pro) and Norton. I checked and I do have Adobe 7.07. The mouse is wireless and has been there for some time; I don't notice anything wrong with the centre wheel in any other programs. Do you have any solution for my problem or anyplace that I could go for further assistance. Thanks.

Phil, it works for a while but the problem re-occurs. I followed your instructions on 10 Feb and then had to repeat it yesterday on 12 Feb. It's back again in less than 24 hours. Any ideas? Thanks.
