  1. I was running TMG v8.04 on Windows 7 (64-bit), and I attempted to save a Descendant Indented Chart to a file. TMG went off into cyberoblivion and never completed, locking up the program entirely and eating up CPU time. After rebooting my computer, I checked for an update and discovered v8.08 was available. I then downloaded and installed the update, which the program indicated had been done successfully. But when I next ran TMG, the splash screen and the Help screen both continued to show v8.04. When I tried to update again, it said that I already had the latest update. The Descendant Indented Chart still doesn't work (and hangs in the same way), so I think I am actually still running on v8.04, but the program won't allow me to update, because it "thinks" I already have updated. Any suggestions on both the chart problem and the update problem? Brian Neil Burg
  2. Dear TMG Forum: My old computer crashed. I have a brand new Dell XPS 8500. I installed TMG v.04 on the Windows 7 (64-bit) O.S. Everything looks fine. Except... When I try to print out a Journal Report starting with my oldest ancestor, it terminates immediately with the message "There were no descendants of the selected person." However, if I do a Descendant Indented Chart, all the descendants are there. Also, all links appear to be correct within the program. So what could be causing the "no descendants" message in the Journal Report? Thanks for any light any of you can shine on this issue. Brian P.S. Do I need to upgrade to TMG 8?
  3. Thanks, Virginia! The surety settings were the problem. I have my Windows 7 computer running in XP mode, and the reports come out fine. I'll consider upgrading to V8, though, because I'd like to run in 64-bit mode. I did install the PDF printer driver in Win 7 64-bit. I really appreciate the quick response to my posting. Brian
