  1. Despite having had TMG for several years, I still struggle with compiling unique reports. Once again, I am hoping the forum members can help me. I am looking to create a list of ancestors [of a specific person, not the entire database] with a list of the sources of the birth, marriage, deaths. I'm looking for a list to help me see better which primary sources I have / lack. Thanks. Cindy
  2. List of BMD sources

Thanks for the suggestion on html. Able to copy & paste into Word - got what I was looking for. Thank you all. Eager for TMG v8 to be released!!!!
  3. List of BMD sources

    Yes, running on 64-bit..... thanks.
  4. List of BMD sources

Thank you for the feedback. I like both the Journal and Ahnentafel reports. When I print as pdf, it shows the source numbers but does not give me a list of endnotes / sources. I have tried printing as a Word doc, but I get 2 errors: 1. WordPort error, with exclamation mark. then 2. Conversion error #20: unknown error - contact tech support.
  5. Can anyone tell me the price of the upgrade to Version 8? I'd like to take advantage of the 10% off on gift certificates but would like some idea on the cost. Thanks.
  6. Looking for some help from the group... I want to create a list of citations associated with a person and all ancestors of that person. I'm sure TMG can do this but I just don't know how. Thanks. Cindy
  7. Yes. Bibiography is just what I was looking for. THANK YOU.
  8. Tmg v7.04-PDF printer driver and Win7

I am on a 64-bit system with Windows 7 and have followed the above steps numerous times also. I am getting the same error code -20 message that Donald gets. Cindy
  9. TMG Install with windows 7

Sorry. I am running Win7 x64 with TMG v7.04. I tried running the pedigree report, saving to file as Acrobat [pdf]. TMG creates the charts, but then I get error "Printer not activated, error code -20".
  10. TMG Install with windows 7

So I'm supposed to be able to? I can't. I have followed the instructions at the top of the forum.
  11. TMG Install with windows 7

I am trying to save a pedigree file as a pdf, to send to relatives as a Christmas card. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Can I do this? Or what would I need to do to be able to do this - like upgrade to Windows Professional? Thanks.
  12. .sqz to .sdf?

It has not been a good weekend. I had to do a clean install of Windows 7 due to compatibility issues with the RC. The computer kept crashing when I used the USB drives, so I wasn't able to back-up hardly anything. In my final attempt to save something, I saved the current TMG file, as a .sqz file. My most important file. I have since installed TMG & opened this file & all appears well. But in the projects folder in TMG, I should have the .sdf file, correct? It's not there. Can I convert the .sqz file to a .sdf file? What am I doing wrong? Or am I looking in the wrong place??? Thanks, Cindy
  13. .sqz to .sdf?

Thank you for your help. I was able to download my Second Site file from the website so things are looking better. Thanks. Cindy
  14. Can I print a report showing what sources have [or don't have] an exhibit attached to them? If so, will you please share how this is done. Thanks, Cindy
  15. Report: sources with exhibits

Yes, easy with step-by-step instructions. This is what I was looking for but I never would have found this on my own. Thanks. Cindy
  16. I have recently purchased a new computer with Win 7. I have tried transferring over my files & I think it's going OK [except for uploading my SS3 file]. Is there a way to get a complete list of what I have updated / input on TMG since a certain date [when I got the new computer]? Thanks. Cindy
  17. I have been working on the family genealogy on & off for 30 years & have been using TMG for about 5 years. I still feel like a beginner with this program! Due to inexperience with inputting information early on, in previous programs, I want to 'clean up' my file to ensure that it is as accurate as possible. I have done a 'validate file integrity' and I'm still working on that list. I have recently created a website using John Cardinal's Second Site. On the website, I have omitted all living persons for privacy reasons. To be sure that I have included everyone possible, how can I create a list of people who are lacking a death date? [if they lack a death date, they will not be listed on the web site]. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancest...7.0-o/index.htm For anyone wishing to glance at the site, constructive criticism gladly accepted and appreciated! Thanks, Cindy
  18. EXACTLY! I do NOT want to exclude someone born 200 years ago. I have TMG Utility but obviously not using that as I should be. I changed the Living flag to 1888, 120 years prior to current year, as John recommends. But I got a report that lists some people with known death dates. The Living Flag is enabled in TMG. Any ideas? Thanks so much.
  19. Let me start by saying that I am still a rookie with TMG. That being said, please reply to me at the level of a 4th grader. I have imported a rather large genealogy, with over 2000 names, so I do not want to re-input the information. I currently use the automatic relationship tag to give me a better understanding of the family. This has also helped me find errors. For example, I was looking at a GGM, then her mother, but on this person it stated no blood relationship. I know there is a blood relationship. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong & how to fix this? Thanks from a TMG newbie.
  20. relationship error

Thank you very much. I understood your directions, they worked, and I learned something new! Thank you!
  21. I am somewhat new to TMG - I still consider myself at the beginner stage anyhow. So please keep this in mind with answers. Thanks. :-) Ultimately, I would like to create some calendars for Christmas, to keep family members interested in the family genealogy throughout the year. I'd like to use various old photos as graphics & have current birthdates & anniversaries in 1 font and birthdates, anniversaries, & death dates of deceased members in a different font. Thus far, I do not see any way to directly transfer information to do this, so I'm thinking of manually inputting information from 1 ancestry line into a calendar so I can print it. So...how can I print a list of names with birth, marriage, death dates for ancestors of 1 person? THANK YOU!
  22. calendar creation / list of dates

Thank you very much!!! I FINALLY got it! I hope someone else can learn from this post as well, and take advantage of John's great add-on to TMG. Again, thank you to all who responded. Cindy
  23. calendar creation / list of dates

OK. I thought I was good with computers but I guess I need to go at the VERY beginner stage for TMG. I have tried using OTD, based on the recommendations, & I get no where. The 1st tme I ran it I got up to 10 events per day, based on the number of people in my genealogy. Now I get 0. One question - for ancestor or descendant interest, the values are set at 0, 1, 2, 3. I don't follow... I understand the other flag values. Will you please tell me in very simple terms, for someone who does not understand TMG [yet], how to create a calendar based on descendants of 1 person, say #555? A big thank you to those who have tried to help me. I now see that I need to step back to learn the program more so I can take better advantage of all, or more, that TMG has to offer. Again, thanks, Cindy
  24. calendar creation / list of dates

This [OTC] looks like what I'm looking for!!! But instead of getting ALL of the ancestors on the calendar, how do I make a new database with just ancestors & descendants of 1 person? Thank you!!!
  25. I am fairly new t TMG & I'm getting pretty frustrated with the export feature. I'm hoping someone can help me. I will be seeing my uncle on the 4th of July & he has asked for a copy of the genealogy. I had planned on exporting a GEDCOM file on CD for him, as he has a Mac. He also has a PC that he uses when needed. I have been unsuccessful at saving to a CD. Then I figured I could save in Word, as other people had talked about, & he could take it from there. Well....I'm still trying to figure out how to save in Word. I'm usually pretty computer literate but this program has me baffled. I have purchased the DVDs so I can learn the program better but I'm going to run out of time before the 4th to see everything! Can someone please help me? Thanks! Cindy
