  1. I purchased the upgrade to take me from 7.04 to 9.03 and have been trying for several days to get the new version installed. I have already uninstalled the old 7.04 version, and have rebooted my machine afterwards. I have also run a registry cleaner to get rid of old TMG registry entries, and rebooted again. I am running the tmg9setup file as Administrator, and have downloaded it about 4 times, thinking there may be an error with the download. It gets about 3/4 of the way through and then errors out with the message: "the cabinet file 'disk1.cab' is corrupt'". If I click ignore or retry the install, I get an "FDI server error". I am running Windows 8 and had no problems running the older version on my machine. Thanks for your help. Dawn Bingaman
  2. My computer died. I installed TMG v8 on my new computer. When I tried to open a project, it said that it was created in a newer version of TMG v8. I tried to do an update, but got this error message; "Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specific log file location exists and you can writ to it." Where is this file located, and why would I be having trouble with this since this is a new installation?
  3. Am running Windows 7 64-bit with all current Microsoft maintenance. Ran TMG V8.04 and requested upgrade to V8.07 per your announcement e-mail that arrived this morning. Download & install proceeded flawlessly. Went to restart TMG V8 and it hung with a "white screen" across both my monitors. Windows system monitor showed no activity on TMG task. Waited and waited and waited until I couldn't stand it any longer. Ended up cancelling the task. Attempted to reinstall TMG V8.04, but install failed saying a more current version was installed. Ended up having to delete TMG completely, then install TMG V7 and apply my initial upgrade to TMG V8.00 then TMG V8.04. At least have TMG back to a state where I can run, but not at all happy with the upgrade to V8.07. An upgrade that won't install successfully and forces a drop-back to a prior version is worse than useless...
  4. Hi Am on a Win 7 64 bit system. Yesterday (03 March), from within (TMGUK Gold) v.8.01 I downloaded patch to v8.02 and executed update to 8.02. All progressed well, until install aborted about 75% of the way through, with a message (I think... didn't write it down. Ooops) that an .ocx file failed to register. There was then an option to roll back, with statement that program would return to its previous (functioning) state, so I authorised that. There was a verbose log file that alas I didn't save, trusting to the rollback. I left my pc to do other stuff and have returned today, about 24 hours later, to find that not only is TMG v8 shortcut gone from desktop, but the entire program has been uninstalled. All data & configs are safe, and I have backups of those. All data is v.8 format as I was happy with v8 and transferred all over from v7 and uninstalled v7 sometime ago so I can't go back to v7 now No worries I thought; I downloaded the time locked demo file, thinking I could just reinstall and re-enter my rego information to unlock it. However, the install package is hanging at the point where you accept the default program location (I do), i.e., "Install" and "cancel" are the options offered. I hit "install" and then nothing happens.Running taskmanager shows that msiexec and tmg8setup are listed as running processes with no CPU usage. Hard disk light shows no hard disk usage after 2 minutes or so. Dialog box says to hit "back" to review or change, however no "back" button is displayed. Hitting "cancel" just bring sup the confirmation dialog, at which point I hit "yes" I've tried this 3 times, with same result, ensuring no other programs I usually have running - Outlook, Keepass, Chrome, Firefox usually - are running. I'm at a loss to explain this. Have I overlooked something obvious? Any suggestions? If this is wrong place to post the query please let me know and I'll readdress appropriately. Grateful for any assistance Rob Mills/Sydney, AU
  5. I am trying to set up both US & UK versions of TMG v8 on one windows 7 PC using the same method I used for TMG v7 on a single XP machine. Reason? my wife is a yank and I'm a brit. First install (UK) goes fine when signed in as "David", for a single user, in a unique (tagged with UK) folder. I can execute the samle project. Second install (US) fails when signed-in as "Patricia", for a single user, in a unique (tagged with US) folder. The error message reads essage .... "Error opening installation log file. Verifythat the specified log file location exists and that you can write to it" Isthere a preferred method for what I am trying to do? Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? Any help appreciated David
