Some will accept Word files, others may require a PDF file.
Terry Reigel 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2008 As Roy says, ask your publisher what is required. Most printers I checked out as I prepared my Primer preferred PDF format. I created Primer on Word97, and then converted the file to PDF with PDF995, which acts as a printer driver. It's free with ads, or only $9.95 to be free from the ads. A specialized publishing program may ease the layout, especially if you are doing something complex, but you can do a lot of layout work with Word too. But you don't need anything fancy to create the required file formats.

Helmut Leininger 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2008 Hi, I created Primer on Word97, and then converted the file to PDF with PDF995, which acts as a printer driver. It's free with ads, or only $9.95 to be free from the ads. conc.: output to PDF: Microsoft Office 2007 has a export possibilty to PDF (must be downloaded and installed, but is free). Another possibility is "FreePF XP" (downloadable from http://freepdfxp.de, they have also versions for Windows 9x/ME/NT), free of charge, works like a printer from every program.
