The two reasons they wouldn't show are 1) the birth and death tags are not made primary (but they should be by default unless they have been changed), and 2) the dates are irregular, meaning entered in some format TMG doesn't understand. There are just a very few of these cases - unfortunately I can't remember which so will have to wait until I call them up again! I will check both conditions you suggest.
