Cannot Update V 7.00

When I tried to update V7.0 I received an error message "No application is associated with the update engine so it cannot check for updates" TMG then shut down.

 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling thinking this may fix the problem. It just made it worse. Now I cannotupdate to V7.3.

 

Same error message and program shut down.

 

How can I overcome this.

Running Vista Home Premium.
