Lost Exhibits

Recommended Posts

Guest Judy I

I have the TMG V7 and the upgrades with it. Everytime I now backup my projects, it tells me my 15 exhibits are not there anymore. What happened and can I get them back? Thank you.

Are you using the Exhibit Log / View/Edit Image feature to add a highlight layer to some exhibits?

Have you run Validate File Integrity and used the tool to check and update external exhibits?

Read the topic 'Missing Exhibits' in help.

Also, after you backup, there are two log files that can help... Last Backup.log will list the 'missing' exhibits at the top and List of external exhibits.log will list external exhibits recorded in the exhibits data table. The logs are in the Logs folder in the User Data folder tree. See 'Data File Structures' in help.

The 'missing' exhibits may or may not be missing.

Thank you for helping, I have found most of the information per your help. This program was recommended to me last year and I have problems understanding some of it, I think it is over my head a bit. With your books and this forum, I should get through it better!

Judy I,

Take your time with this program. I started using this last month and found that it does have a bit of a learning curve. Explore the sample that is included, then enter just a few of you family members on a new tree. The book does help.
