jenealogy 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Trying to merge a lot of duplicated people. I know that this normally is easy (at least in the past, but I haven't done this in 7.0 until now). Here's a sample of people in the Project Explorer: Vernon Charles BLATCHLEY (7369) (1851-1925) Vernon Charles BLATCHLEY (7370) (1851-1925) Vernon Charles BLATCHLEY (7375) (1851-1925) Vernon Charles BLATCHLEY (14324) (1851-1925) I've tried the following configurations and can't get the result screen to bring all of these people up as duplicates to #7369: Summary: default Surnames: have same soundex or have identical spelling Given: have same soundex or have identical spelling and with and without Evaluate first name only checked Birth Dates: are not evaluated Death Dates: are not evaluated Parents' GivenDates: are not evaluated Filters: Start with This Person: 7369 The best that I've gotten is another "Vernon B. Blatchley". What am I missing here?
GenerationGoneBy 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 I am not sure either, but if you just want to merge them you can just select them by ID number. Go to MERGE and put in the ID numbers of the one you want to keep and the one you want to get rid of. I haven't ever used the duplicate person screen very much so maybe someone who has will hope on board.
