tmalek 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 Could not find anything on the Mailing List Archives. How do TMGers deal with the eulogist(s) at a funeral? Separate custom tag? Witness Role? Your thoughts appreciated. Tom
Terry Reigel 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2010 I ignore them totally. But then I only enter funerals in those rare cases where it was notable in some way. On those rare occasions where I do enter a funeral, I mention the eulogist in the Memo if I think it was interesting. If the person was a family member or otherwise of interest, I'd probably add him or her as a Witness. I'd not create a specific Role for a eulogist since I use them very rarely (like I never have ), but if I used them with any regularity I might. I can't imagine a reason to create a separate tag. Michael Hannah 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2010 Hi Tom, I agree with Terry. I have never entered them. However, for significant funerals I probably would have a custom tag, maybe called "Funeral" or "Memorial", that was separate from either the Death tag or the Burial/Cremation tag. That would allow identifying a different place, and possibly a different date/time, for where/when the memorial/funeral/eulogy was held. Like Terry I would either just mention the eulogist in the Memo of that tag, or add them as a Witness only if I wanted them in the database and wanted their narrative to show they gave the eulogy. As with most everything in TMG, there is no right or wrong way to record this. It is simply a matter of doing whatever produces the output you desire. Hope this gives you ideas,
