Journal Report v7.04 Windows 7 (64-bit)--"No Descendants"

Recommended Posts

Dear TMG Forum:

My old computer crashed. I have a brand new Dell XPS 8500. I installed TMG v.04 on the Windows 7 (64-bit) O.S. Everything looks fine. Except...

When I try to print out a Journal Report starting with my oldest ancestor, it terminates immediately with the message "There were no descendants of the selected person." However, if I do a Descendant Indented Chart, all the descendants are there. Also, all links appear to be correct within the program.

So what could be causing the "no descendants" message in the Journal Report?

Thanks for any light any of you can shine on this issue.

Brian

P.S. Do I need to upgrade to TMG 8?

Brian -

Check the surety settings on the General tab in the Journal report configuration. Both 'No Threshold' and 'Include blank surety' should be ticked.

You will not be able to send reports to a word processor with v7 on a 64-bit system. That problem is fixed in v8.

Note also the pinned message at the top of the v7 forum re installing a PDF printer driver with Win 7 x64.

Thanks, Virginia! The surety settings were the problem.

I have my Windows 7 computer running in XP mode, and the reports come out fine. I'll consider upgrading to V8, though, because I'd like to run in 64-bit mode.

I did install the PDF printer driver in Win 7 64-bit.

I really appreciate the quick response to my posting. :notworthy:
