rnorwood 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2015 I have sought help with a problem I'm having with TMG and Windows 10. I have seen some say that the program works fine with Windows 10, but that is not the case with me. When I try to open TMG in Windows 10, I get an error message, saying that "File access is denied c:\users\richard\documents\the master genealogist v9\_programstartlog.log." I cannot figure out how to repair this problem, and while I can ignore the message and open TMG, I cannot edit data in the program, so effectively, I have no data entry anymore. I would like to find another database program to replace TMG, but I don't know which one to choose. I would like direct transfer of TMG data and compatibility with Windows 10. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2015 Try refreshing your installation by running the installer and selection [Repair]. If necessary, the v9.05 installer can be downloaded from the pinned topic in this forum. http://www.whollygenes.com/forums201/index.php?/topic/15915-tmg9-final-installers/ To learn about alternatives to TMG, I'd suggest joining the refugees mail list. They have a website with extensive information on alternative programs. http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/Miscellaneous/TMG-REFUGEES.html
