TMG in death throes?

Running TMG9.04 under Win 8.1. TMG seems to be developing the "creeping crud" or something. It's begun to ask me to register almost every time it opens. Now it won't open a project, telling me it is already open elsewhere. I created a new project today after several iterations and now, if it opens at all, it is blank. But the size on disk seems reasonable. Should I be giving up on it? I dearly hope not!

 

Any advice will be very welcome.

It seems you have a computer issue. Does Windows in general seem to run slowly? Trying running some maintenance routines on you computer, such as Defrag, ChkDsk, and/or some other 3rd party utility (i.e. Glary Utilities) to clean up the hard drive. Also, make certain you're not low on free disk space (try to keep at least 25% free). And, of course, make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date to prevent malware from running on your PC. That's a start, but not necessarily the end.

 

I currently run TMG 9.05 on Windows 10, upgraded from Windows 8.1. It runs fine, especially if you run TMG as Administrator (right click the TMG icon and select "Run as administrator"; alternatively, set the shortcut to run as administrator).

You should download the v9.05 installer and update your installation.

 

You should never need to run TMG as administrator routinely.

Thank you very much. I'm reassured. The computer is only about three months old and has lots of spare memory, etc. I have hesitated to upgrade to Win 10 until I get TMG working correctly. I think it's ok now, but the gremlins that installed OneDrive and Google Drive have them both interfering with my TMG paths.TMG works fine when I change the paths to avoid the backup drives, but I think I may have two copies on my computer and possibly duplicate project files. I tried deleting everything and downloading new but there are these shadow problems in the background still.

 

Jim, you mention a TMG v9.05 and update. I downloaded the TMG v9.05 final installer. Is there an update somewhere?

The problems continue. Each time I open TMG, it runs in Repair mode. Now I get this:

 

An error happened when opening the data tables...

File c:\...TMG-Master2015_ND.DBF not found

 

I have a working copy on a different computer running Win10, but this is my main computer. Should I download a fresh copy, reinstall and use a backup copy of my project? Please note problems in my previous post. Should I try to uninstall and delete everything I can find before downloading and installing a fresh copy?

JIm, I just downloaded the installer whose link is pinned to the v.9 thread and it is 9.04. Is there really a v.9.05 and how can I get it? Thanks!

US or UK edition?

 

Download again. It should be v9.05. It's coming from the server service that Bob uses and the download is on more than one server.
