cisco12 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2015 How can I enter BC dates and have TMG 9 sort them correctly? And hopefully produce a time line that reflects the correct BC date.
Michael Hannah 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2015 There is a "trick" to entering them. Make the "Date" an irregular date with an appended 'BC' so that will output in reports. Then use a 9's complement for the Sort Date year. For details see the discussion of BC dates in the Data Entry chapter of my book here. Hope this gives you ideas,
Morbius 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2016 This is going to sound like a dumb question, but do you mean "BC" as in before "AD"? If so, I am wondering what events you are dating that are before the first century; if y ou don't mind my asking.
Michael Hannah 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2016 I don't know what events the original poster planned to record, but several people believe they have traced ancestors back to times before "AD". As only one example, several chinese families can link to genealogy documentation of heads of the family which go back that far. So this question of being able to enter such dates in TMG is not uncommon, which is I why I have included the customized method for doing so in my book. Virginia Blakelock 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2016 TMG and similar software are widely used in Biblical Genealogy research. Search Google for examples of the timelines. Virginia
