RuthAppleby 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2016 I am attempting to create a new project by importing a gedcom created in an old TMG v.9 project. It gets so far and then I get this error message ( I tried to post an image but wasn't allowed)... File: c:\users\ruth\........\Master2016_g.fpt is too large. 0 G_EFOOT The optiolns are Abort, Retry or Ignore. Suggestions welcomed. Ruth
Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2016 The error refers to an event memo but it's hard to see how a memo could be too large so the real issue isn't clear. It refers to the memo in the .fpt file (where memos are stored) but this error during import is surprising. It implies that the memo in the .fpt file is damaged. Why would you import a GEDCOM rather than using the project? If you want to send me the GEDCOM, I'll test the import. You can email me by clicking on the link below... Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2016 It appears that the cumulative memo size is the issue although it could be because of a damaged memo. The event memo file was 2Gb when the import failed and the VFP file size limit is 2Gb..
