iup 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 I have been having the following problem lately (running ver 6.07): In all views (Person, Family and Tree) when double-clicking on another person's name in the Name/Place column to jump from the currently displayed person to that other person, I keep getting an "Open..." window with these settings: Look In: The Master Genealogist Files of Type: Table/DBF (*.dbf) I can close this window but it appears every time I try to switch the person - be it double-clicking on a parent of the current person, clicking on a previously viewed person in the VIEW pull-down menu, or clicking on the 'Last Viewed Person' icon. Tried the usual - reindexing, optimizing and validating file integrity, the latter a few times until I did not get any more problems. Restarted the system, but the problem remains and can be repeated. Curiously enough, this same window also opens every time after the validation of the file integrity has completed - right after I clicked OK in the message box "Validation completed. No problems found". Thanks for any help!

The solution then was to use the Reset button on the bottom left of the Preferences window to reset the defaults for Program and Project (Both), and close and reopen TMG. If you no longer get the error, you can reset your preferences and the problem should not return. Virginia

Virginia <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Virginia, thanks a lot for your response- the Reset indeed took care of it.
