Children/Sibling Window disappears

In my layout I have a children's window and a siblings' window displayed. When I click on a new person, however, the windows disappear and I have to go to the top bar and click twice to re-display (once to deselect and then once to select).

 

I am sure there is a simple way to stop this. What is it?

Caroline,

First open them and put them on the screen where you want them to stay. Then go to the layout manager, and save your layout. They should then stay where you put them and be there when you open TMG the next time too.

This may be happening because your siblings and childrens windows are overlapping the Details window so when you select a new person they disappear behind the details window.

Try resizing all windows so they don't overlap. They, as Theresa says, save the layout.
