Alias "File_N" not found?

Recommended Posts

My laptop crashed (powered off) in the middle of a session, perhaps even while writing to disk. Don't know for sure.

Now the machine is back on the air, and when I launch TMG7 I am getting this message "Alias 'File_N' not found".

Options shown Cancel, Ignore, Help. Cannot load my project. :wallbash:

Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Have I lost my project?

John's project was damaged and he had to revert to his last backup which he had made the previous day.

Here's what Jim told me that helped:

The problem is that the Welcome window isn't enabled and, when you start the program, it is opening your damaged project.

Edit the app.ini file in the user program data folder and check the [startup] section (in the beginning).

Set the welcome entries as follows:

[startup]

Welcome=2

WelcomeBack=2

Now you can start the program and restore your backup from the Welcome window.
