  1. Glad I remembered to check here before calling CS!
  2. I have a lengthy article from TAG that I typed into Word 2003 because of the footnotes and formatting. Yesterday I tried to cut&paste into the Memo in TMG 6.09. This was a section about 3 printed pages long and it took over 30 minutes to get part it into TMG. I have previously done this with longer articles and had no problem. First the program went into a "not responding" status and had to be restarted. Then I broke the selection down into 2 parts, figuring I would save the memo and tag after each past. They both acted the same, no matter which one I pasted first - they would first take the OK button, flash a quick hourglass, blank out the TMG main screen in the background (all data and buttons disappeared), and then just sit there. After several minutes, the missing background screen came back and the tag entry screen appeared to be back to normal. It hadn't completed the save and closed. I then clicked on the OK again (I also tried F9, but it didn't make any difference). This time the hourglass came on and stayed on for about 10 minutes. After 3 or 4 minutes, I went into taskmanager and found that TMG was using every bit of available CPU capability other than what taskmanager was using. This varied between 95% and 98%. Finally, TMG decided to actually save the tag. I gave up, went into Word, saved the entire thing in plain text with formatting, and did it that way - no problems. Then I attached a PDF version to the main ancestor and referred to it for footnotes. I am thinking that all of the formatting codes confused TMG. I have also noticed that TMG appears to be much slower when opening any memo with length. I first noticed this in 6.08 when I typed a couple directly into the Memo field and saved several times during the transcription. Each time it took longer for the memo to open. Any ideas, or is this a bug? Merryann Palmer themapalmer@earthlink.net http://home.earthlink.net/~themapalmer http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~merryann/
