VCF crashes when trying to export chart to jpeg

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and TMG v8.03

I have created a chart in VCF which has a file size of 1.82 mb. I have saved this to my desktop and am trying to export it to a jpeg image.

The Export Image box pops and is then overlayed with the Jpeg Image Settings box which displays Quality 95 & Smoothing 0. The Generating Image message appears at the bottom of the screen.

When I click the OK button on the Jpeg Image Settings I immediately get the error "Visual Chartform has stopped running" - I have waited up to 25 minutes before closing the error box which then crashes VCF. The details are as below (I have generated smaller jpegs with no problem):

Doug -

I don't know the answer to your question about that particular file, but if you plan on printing the chart the much-preferred file format is PDF. In the VCF notes on page 3 in the article here, the jpg image quality of a VCF chart is rated as Poor, and the PDF image quality as Excellent - and preferred by commercial printers.

For information on saving the chart as a PDF file, see the earlier forum message here.
