I imported gedcom from Legacy. On the citations/footnotes output, on all the book source citations, citation begins author unknown. Any advice, help, comments on this much appreciated.
Do you think importing directly FDB or ZIP file might improve the import?
My apologies for double posting the previous post.
Gedcom didn't bring authors into TMG

Miss,
Have you looked at the Source Definitions after the import? Are the authors listed in them under another Source Element? Have you looked at the GEDCOM to see whether the authors are in the GEDCOM, and if so, under what tag type?

A GEDCOM file is simply a text file, so you can look at it with a text editor. You should see a line which has 'SOUR' at the beginning, followed shortly after by a line with 'AUTH' at the beginning.
I just tested this with a small GEDCOM file. If the 'AUTH' line is present in the GEDCOM Source Record then that text is put in the TMG Author Source Element. Now what you get in a report will depend upon the structure of the TMG Source Definition for that source, as Terry suggests.
