Ron Rector 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 I do not have a date of burial only cemetery name in the tag record. The tag displays at the end of the timeline in the display but at the beginning of the narrative. Would like to print the cemetery name after the death data. Terry Reigel 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Add a Sort Date to place the burial tag in the correct sequence. You need to be using Advanced Data Entry mode to use sort dates. If you are using Beginner Mode, go to Preferences > Program Options > Data Entry to change that. Sort dates never print - they are just used to sequence the tags. When you enter a Date, the same date is automatically entered in the Sort Date, but you can also change that if you want. For undated tags you can just enter a Sort Date manually. For undated burial tags I ususally enter a Sort Date a couple of days after the death.
GenerationGoneBy 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Also there's a preference that moves undated tags to the top or bottom of the screen. I prefer top. That way I can see tags that are out of order since they are above the Birth Tag. Helpful in catching little errors like this one.
Terry Reigel 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Also there's a preference that moves undated tags to the top or bottom of the screen. It looks like Ron has done that, but the problem is that preference has no impact on reports - undated tags always appear at the top of reports.
GenerationGoneBy 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2008 Terry, Yes, but it appears his undated tags are going to the bottom of the screen which makes it look like his burial tag is where it should be. If he sorts them to the top of the list, then the burial would be listed first and he'd know it needed to be fixed. Would save him from having to print a report to see the sort order.
