  1. In response to another TMG user that wanted to share AutoCAD files with persons who do not have that software, I do this easily by selecting the open drawing (while in AutoCAD) and then pasting it into a new .doc. You may have to adjust things in AutoCAD to get it on the paper the way you want. I typically preview it and adjust the AutoCAD print ratios to fit my drawing on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. 2. error opening data tables

Hi Phil, Thanks for your response to my message. I have already contacted Dorothy, and sent my file to her for repair. I very much appreciate you folks in support! Joan Thomas
  3. After several hours of data input the screen froze as I attempted to add a citation to a tag entry. I had just added a witness and closed that box prior to clicking on the plus button for a citation. I let it set for several minutes and was still unable to close the screen or shut down. I finally used CAD to manually shut down the system, but now I cannot get into my TMG project. I had a message that there was an error opening the data tables and one that mentioned a missing dbf file. I am using 6.08 and Win98SE with lots of power and plenty of resources. I have had similar shut downs since upgrading from 6.04 and have had to have my files repaired a couple of times. I'm afraid I am getting skitterish now, and afraid of losing my recent input... again. Any help would be greatly appreciated Joan
  4. reinstalling serial number

Hi Pat, I have a folder for similar info... except didn't put that vital little piece of info there. When I get it again.. it is going inside the manual, GTMOOTMG, and on the CD sleeve. And better yet, in a doc on the computer that can be cut and pasted! Joan
  5. I know that I knew better, but in my haste to get back to work I uninstalled and reinstalled the program... without noting my serial number. Thought I had written it down somewhere before, but cannot find. Now what do I do?? I'm only getting the trial version because I can't find the serial number.
  6. My main project opens in repair mode but closes after showing a box telling me there was an error opening data files. I deleted the *.cdx files (of which there were only 8), but it didn't help. When I checked the *.cdx files the second time I see that only 8 are being recreated. I am unable to open my main project. Other projects open just fine, run the repair mode, and seem to be okay. I am running Win98SE, have plenty of disk space. Was in Ancestry.com, with TMG open, when the screen froze and I could not close it.. even with CAD. Had to push the restart button on the computer, and now have the problem with my project. Thanks for any help. Joan Thomas
