Thank you Jim! The uninstall-reinstall, worked just fine! The program prints great. Thank you for your patience and time. I did accidently delete my databases, but dug them out of the recycle bin. All is well, thanks!

I didn't suggest using restore to restore your database.I suggested restoring an operating system restore point but, since you don't know when the problem began, that's not an option.
Don't uninstall/reinstall the program yet because that could make things more difficult to fix.
I'm attaching a zipped BAT file. Unzip that to your desktop and run it. It will create a text file on your desktop named 'setting.txt'.
Post the contents of that text file so that I can check the settings.
Thanks! I did as you described above, and Ran the .bat file, but the contents do not make sense.
Here is a Copy of the settings.txt file.

Also, I still have version 6 on my computer. I ran it, and it prints everything just fine.

This persists when you reboot your computer?Yes, I rebooted from a complete shut down.
Thank you for your help, Jim!
I have not tried to print anything, since I upgraded from version 6 to version 7. I can try the Restore; but can I try, reinstalling version 7 over again? Or might that make things worse!

When I try to print any Report I get the following error:
RUN|! Command failed. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
My choices are: Cancel, Igonre, Help.
When I choose Cancel, the entire program freezes.
I am using the most current version of TMG 7.
Thanks,

Thank you, Dave, for your Post! I will keep working on the problem and see if i can't find a resolution!

Hi RichardI'm using TMG v7.3 and Dragon Naturally Speaking version 8, both in English and Dutch and have never had any problems with DNS transcribing direct into another program, ie WP12, MSWord 2003, FTM 2006, Acrobat Notes etc...
I know this won't help you solve the problem but thought you might want to hear an instance where DNS and TMG work tickety-boo with each other.

Has anyone had trouble using TMG 7, at the same time that voice recognition software is running?Even if I am not using the recognition software...(it is just sitting in the background, not being used)... when I try to run TMG 7, I get a window with a Fox Pro error, and the genealogy program shuts down. If I remove the recognition software from the computer memory, then TMG works just fine.
The voice recognition software that I am using the Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Robin !!
Thanks a million for the reply! It is an irritating problem and makes it difficult when I am entering data really fast!!
I hope they find a fix for it!
Richard
This is a variant of a problem that also exists in TMG v7 which I identified and reported. It happens on some dialogs if you exit that dialog with Enter or F9, but works as expected if you click the OK button.
To get the mouse cursor back move the mouse so that it would move into another pane on the screen.
Hopefully it will get fixed in an upgrade to TMG v7.

Does anyone know why the mouse arrow disappears...
On some of the Dialog boxes and Tag boxes, the "OK' key remains highlighted, even when you use your mouse to fill in the the data. When I am finished, instead of moving the mouse down to the "OK" button, I just leave the mouse arrow wherever it is in the Dialog box, and hit the "Enter" key on the keyboard.
The Dialog box closes, saving the information, but the mouse arrow disappears from the screen. I end up having to tap the right or left mouse button several times, to get the arrow to come back>
Does anyone know what this is, and if it is a program error that needs to be fixed??? It does not matter what Dialog or Tag box I use.
It is annoying!
Thanks!

I am trying to delete a small family line from my database. I have the individuals I want to delele, in the Focus Group List, but the Program wants me to delete each persons various Tags first, before it will delete the List of Persons. What is the best way for me to accomplish this? Thanks! Richard
-
Thank you Lorna! I am a former Roots 3 user, and this new program has a high learning curve for me!
Richard
On the screen or on paper? If the former, open the flag window (Window Menu or click on the Flags icon in the toolbar
If the latter have you tried an individual detail report?

How do I see, the list of existing Flags, that I have linked to an Individual person?
Vital Records

I know the answer is here somewhere, but I can't find it.
I have lots of individual vital records, wills, letters, references, etc. that can be specific to one person. I want to keep a list of these as "Sources", in TMG. I can make each "reference" a Source. But....where is the best place to "attach" it to. Most of these "references" I have, do not need to be attached to individual Tags. I just want them listed to a specific individual or place. I am THINKING, that I can use the "Name" tag, and make each of my references a Source, and then attach each to the Name Tag. But is there a better way to do this??
