  1. I want to create a journal report, exporting to Microsoft Word, with full justification of the margins. I have checked the "full" button under "justification" on the Page option, but the report created is only left margin justified. When I check the "left" button under "justification," I get the same report with left margin justification. What do I need to do to get full justification of the margins?

  2. When you check Combine Consecutive, the disabled ibid button cannot be used. Instead you can check the disabled ibid button, but then the Combine Consecutive doesn't work. So you have a choice of using one, but not both. I would like to use both buttons. I don't like having "ibid." in the footnotes. I also don't like having multiple separate footnotes in citing a single event. I can "edit" out the multiple footnotes, but that seems to be the difficult way. I didn't have this problem with v. 7.

  3. The Journal/descendants reports shows half siblings. The Journal/ancestor reports omits them. Besides the asymmetric problem between these two reports, there is real value to showing these half-siblings since siblings and half-siblings lived together and appear in censuses together. The Legacy Family Tree software shows half siblings in their ancestor journal report. I request that the TMG Journal/ancestor report also show half-siblings.

There is a good discussion about this here:

And there was interest about a TMG approach here:

Please reply if there s interest in this feature.....

I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO SEE THE FEATURE YOU DESCRIBE. I AM INTERESTED IN PUBLISHING A FAMILY HISTORY OF MY ANCESTORS. I WANT TO INCLUDE ADOPTED FAMILY MEMBERS AND HALF SIBLINGS, BUT THE TMG JOURNAL REPORT DOES NOT PRODUCE THIS DATA. MANUALLY ADDING IN THE INFORMATION TO A TMG ANCESTOR JOURNAL REPORT IS A HUGE, TIME CONSUMING JOB THAT I WOULD LIKE TO AVOID.

  4. :rolleyes:When the husband and father dies and the wife remarries, the TMG Journal descendancy report format (the one which emulates such publications as NEHGR, TAG etc.) doesn't show her children by her second husband, even though they are half siblings of her previous set of children and usually continue to be part of her second marriage family. This creates a gaping hole in the family history. John Barrett Robb

GENEALOGY IS MUCH MORE THAN TRACKING BLOODLINES. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT REPORTS ON FAMILIES INCLUDE ALL ASPECTS OF THAT FAMILY, INCLUDING ADOPTIONS AND SIBLINGS OF SECOND MARRIAGES. TMG SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO ALLOW THE PUBLICATION OF FAMILY HISTORY TYPE REPORTS WHICH JOHN BARRETT ROBB DESCRIBES SO WELL.
