I'd simply like to echo this comment in saying I spent too much time trying to find a "license number" before I found this post.
It is unacceptable that there is such a descrepency in the information requested at installation and the information that is actually provided to customers.

I just installed TMG on my new laptop that has the Vista operating system. I followed the instructions from your document dated March 24, 2007
"The Master Genealogist and Windows Vista". However, it wasn't until after I completed everything and ran into the "everytime you start TMG, you will get a User Account Control prompt." situation that I saw, on the second page of your instructions, the "work around (for more advanced users) the need to run as Administrator is a result of permissions issues ..." basically, a fix for this annoying prompt I get each time I now open TMG.
So my question is: do I have to uninstall and then reinstall using this "work-around" in order to avoid this issue or is there another option now that I've actually installed the software?
thanks in advance for your assistance.

I found that I had accidently "married" the same man to two different women. How do I unmarry him from the one he isn't/wasn't married to?
Big oops with moving from v6 to v7

I just now realized that when I upgraded from from v6 to v7 (2008!) I didn't backup/restore one of my family files. And of course I no longer own v6. Now that I want to move on to v8, I want to be able to get this family file up-to-date. Is there a utility I can use to get this v6 file moved forward?
I've searched the forums and was unable to find anything except a reference to an email that was sent to users when upgrades were purchased with links to instructions for this process. I found mine, but the link is no longer valid.
Thanks,
Karen
