Active window problem

Recommended Posts

How do I get the active window to always be placed on top of the other open windows? Sometimes when there are lots of open windows (cue cards, tags, normal layout stuff, sources, etc...) the active window is underneath the other windows and can not be visualized. Much of the time this obstruction is not complete, and I can click down to the active window. Other times however obstruction is total, the nonactive windows are locked in position and can't be activated, and I am stuck. I have to close down and open the program back up to progress. Any suggestions on how to avoid this problem? Thanks.

Partial reply: On the Menu bar click Window. Select either Center the current Window, Next Window, or Arrange Window to get out of the "locked" situation.

Jared -

Normally the 'active' window requiring a response from you would be on top, and as you respond to each active window in turn, it would close - taking you back to the layout windows. If you need the cue card open, temporarily move it off the screen to the bottom or side before initiating any action; otherwise close it after you read it. There is an option at the bottom of the cue card screen to not show that specific card again, or you can turn off all cue cards in Preferences / General.
