hscheig 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 When I backup a project I get the following message: "input file read failure - this error occurs when a file read operation is performed on a ZIP file that is locked or restricted by another process. Please check the destination drive." I then check OK and I get a message the backup was successful. Everything seems to be OK but why do I get that message? hscheig
martin tolley 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 I get this message occasionally too. It happens for me when I'm backing up to my USB flash memory stick. I don't get it when backing up to my hard drive.

Virginia Blakelock 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2006 I'm sending backup to floppy A://hscheig If you check 'Span disks' (even if you don't need another disk) on the 'backup characteristics' screen, it usually heads off that message. Virginia
hscheig 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2006 Virginia, That doesn't work. I was asked to insert 10 floppies when there is only one and then got a message "temporary file failure". The cure seems to be worse than the disease. I think the best thing is to live with it. Backup seems to work in spite of the error messages. hscheig
