DianeE 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2007 I have downloaded V7 and when attempting to open the programme I get the pop-up box with the message An error happened when opening the data tables File c:\Documents and settings\...\The Master Genealogist V7\Projects\Sample\Sample_UK_I.dbf not found I have closed down and rebooted, and TMG has started in Repair Mode but I still get the same error message. Please note, I am not very confident with the technical issues relating to TMG and feel at a loss as to where to start, so simple explanations would be much appreciated. Any help gratefully received. retsof 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) This is a pattern seen on many V7 threads. I am missing the memo file myself (projectname_G) plus several others. I could always do it again and write down all dataset names missing with a FIX_nn comment. There were several. I'm not sure that the data is trustworthy, so am continuing to work in V6. The conversion from V6 to V7 is supposed to parcel out pieces-parts of the datasets to different places. It appears as if some parts didn't make it. When whollygenes wakes up this morning, we'll see. Actually, I didn't get that error with the V7 sample project since there was no conversion performed. I got the error with one of my own projects.
