  1. At various times, I've entered my French-Canadian ancestors' surnames into my database both in all caps and mixed. I now see that it's NOT recommended to enter surnames all in capitals. Why is this? How would the software translate LaPorte or Côté into capitalized versions? Can it handle the accents correctly?
