  1. Neil, Uninstalling the software seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the help. Bill
  2. I bought a new computer and installed TMG 6 from a CD (with Vista OS). Now whenever I open it I get a popup that says: Roxio My DVD DE Please wait while Windows configures Roxio My DVD DE It remains until I press the cancel button. The program seems to work OK after that, but it is an irritating distraction and happens on none of the other programs I have installed on the CD/DVD drive. I queried about this problem last year and was told to buy TMG 7, which I did. The problem persists in TMG 7. Bill Roy Los Angeles, CA billroy@ucla.edu
  3. placemap.upd

When I start TMG 6 (in Vista), I get a message that says: Ready to process update. An Automated update file (placemap.upd) was found. It is designed to apply changes to the way that the Place Mapping feature works. WARNING: If you made prior customization to this feature, they may be overwritten by this update. Are you sure that you want to process this update file? (If you answer NO then the update file will be renamed to placemap.xxx and will not be applied Yes No. Whether I check on Yes or No, a box appears that says: Please wait, while Windows configures ROXIO MyDVD DE. Since this is my DVD drive it finds nothing and hangs up until I click on "Cancel" Does anyone know what to do about this? Thank you. Bill Roy Los Angeles
  4. In examining the Master Place List I found that several cases had entries that were not places, but were dates, notes, etc. When I tried to use the Find Text to search for those cases, it is grayed out, and Ctrl-F does nothing. How do I get the Find Text facility to work? Or is there another way to find the cases with the bad country data? I am using TMG 6 under Vista. Bill Roy Los Angeles
