Virginia, I did as you suggested and was able to start TMG V7. However, if I use Help > Message Manager, I get the same Progress window and TMG hangs at 20% I scanned through the messages on this forum and didn't find another report of this problem. What can I do assist Support in finding this problem Many thanks for your prompt response. Jim

After installing V7, backing up my V6 project and restoring the backup to V7, I closed TMG V7. The next time that I opened it, it loaded my project, displayed the Tips & Hints window and started retrieving messages. The progress bar got to 20% and stopped. My cursor disappeared. The only way I could get out of this situation was to ctl-alt-del, then use the Windows Task Manager to kill TMG. It was showing as not responding. This happens every time that I start TMG V7. I am still able to open TMG V6. My operating system is Windows XP Professional. Thanks, Jim Campbell Spartanburg, SC
