  1. Day of the Week

I agree it would be a wonderful capability, waldonj, for just the reason you cited - frequently having to access a calender, for 1923 for instance, when gleaning info from death and funeral notices and counting off "Friday last" or other designations to get an actual burial or death date. I'll look forward to hearing about a possible solution to this little irritant.
  2. Hi Virginia, Thanks for trying to help. I have tried opening from the welcome screen and I have tried from the sample and I get the same result each way. The screen opens with the appropriate database title at the very top, the top pull -own menu line is correct and the only other thing I see is at the bottom left that says Accent Off. The rest of the screen stays gray. If I try to access the top pull down menus, when I click on it, that whole line becomes white and the top says the name of the database and (not responding). The only way for me to exit at that point is to click on the the top right-hand X and even then it takes several minutes to close. I do recall that right after I inadvertently entered the hyperlink as a name in the wife tag line, a small window came up asking me if I wanted to do something - maybe link in someway - sorry I cannot remember. I clicked yes. I thought it was unusual and don't remember ever having seen that box before. But that's when things seemed to go haywire. Do you think that if I upgraded to v7, it might work? Would it import what is currently in the database? I am a little worried it might also import the error that is causing all this mess. Thanks again, Susan
  3. I am still running TMG Gold v5.11. Tonight, I copied and pasted a name as a spouse for one of my ancestors. Since it's a noted ancestor, found the name on Wikipedia. The spelling was a little tricky, so I highlighted her name on the site, copied and pasted it into the tag box and clicked OK. Lo and behold, I had inadvertantly copied a hyperlink and now I cannot even open the pjc file. I have another, smaller pjc for a diffrent family and it opens fine, so my software is still good, but my main databse will not open. The program justs stops responding. I made a backup about a month ago, but I hate to lose a hundred or so names and dates I entered over the last month, since I last did a backup. ANy suggestions on rescuing my main database? I am running Windows. Thanks.
