I have added 3 names to my project tonight and when I have tried to add their names as witnesses to the 1901 census with their id number, 3 different names have come up. They are new unused id numbers and the names that are appearing have definitely not been keyed by me previously. I have no one in my tree so far that hasn't an Irish or English name yet the names that appear are, Maria Vincente Ryborz instead of John Walker id 789 Neo Falize instead of John Walker id 799 Lisette Krautscheild instead of Edith Walker id 800 also does anyone else recognise these names as their's. Have also noticed that quite a few of my exhibits and citations are missing. Regards Half Pint

Hi Virginia Again, you are an absolute wonder. I have two projects, one that holds any information, gedcoms that I have been sent etc and my main one. Nothing goes from the first to my main one until I have actually proved their link myself and then they are manually keyed one at a time. I do it this way as I was once sent, in good faith, a large gedcom which I immediately incorporated into mine, only to find that one link was incorrect which took me weeks to sort out. So I knew immediately when I read your email that it was not from an import but decided to check in my other project. And lo and behold there are those names. When I first started my research I used Legacy before moving to TMG and it has just sat on my system ever since, not being used, so I have now moved the "pending project" over to Legacy. All of my exhibits are also filed elsewhere so it may take sometime to re-key them but it can be done. Even after all this I am still enjoying every minute I use TMG. I may be one of the slower ones at learning everything it has to offer but the potential is incredible. Do you think there is anything else I could do to prevent this happening again. I am wishing and praying for an "undo" function on the edit menu. I have just sat here and keyed 193 people into a focus list and then pressed the wrong key. I had meant to remove one person from the list and accidently removed them all. Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hi I want to export a project and this is the first time that I will have done so. My project contains several datasets, one of which I have disabled as it isn't relevant to the recipient, would this one be included in the export. Regards Half Pint

Hi Although I have been using TMG for some time now I still class myself as a newbie as I am still learning new things everyday. To speed up this process my dearly beloved has offered to buy me the Super Training Bundle. I know it may sound as though I am "thick" but I find it alot easier to learn something when I am shown how, rather than having to interpret instructions. So if anyone has this set of DVD's and book could they please let me how in-depth the training DVD's are ie do they show you step-by-step how to set up flags or is it just an overview. Hi There have been a few times when I felt that TMG and I would not be ideal partners, and have only stuck with it because so many other more "enlightened" folk on this site were extolling its virtues. Well after spending a few days at the coast where the weather was wet, to say the least, with my laptop, TMG, my manual and no internet. I am so glad that I stuck with it. Yes, Terry don't faint, I have finally managed to understand "flags". The only way to describe how it feels, is to say I feel like a child seeing the christmas tree lit up for the first time. Can I please say to everyone of you A VERY BIG THANK YOU for their patience, especially Terry, whose patience I stretched to the very limit. I am going now, as I have so many ideas in my head that I want to put into practice. Regards Half Pint

Hi For some reason I have suddenly not been able to use the "Add Person" from my toolbar but can use the add from the file, edit, add etc bar. It locks out and the only thing I can do is use "control, alt and del and log back in. Can sks please help. Regards Half Pint ps this is the standard toolbar, not customised

Hi I prefer to work with non-primary tags showing. This was initially set up in the tag box within Preferences. When I log out it is set along with all my other preferences, however whenever I log back in it has been cancelled and all my detail pages are filtered. Every other setting is exactly the same as I left it. Could sks please show me if there is a way around this happening, as it isn't causing a problem, but it is a pain. Regards Half Pint

Hi I have printed off the Family Group Sheet for this first time and I have the following query. On the left hand side of the childrens name it states the childs sex with either an M or F but it also gives a question mark ie ?/M or ?/F. Hi My wonderful hubby bought me a laptop for Christmas. I have downloaded the 30 day trial version on to it and unlocked it with my serial number, fine. I then closed it and went into the project I want to transfer over, on my pc. Everything went well with the export of my gedcom until I went to press "finish" to burn it onto a CD and it came up with words to the effect that the file was running somewhere else. I have definitely closed down my laptop so can sks please tell me what I have missed or shouldn't have done. Regards Half Pint

Hi When I try to print an "individual detail" report, a screen pops up saying: "there are already 6 end notes in the cumulative list would you like to DELETE them to initialise the cumulative endnotes before running this report" then I have the option of pressing the following keys, yes, no or cancel.
