Issue with adding a new tag (Win 7)

I have suddenly encountered an issue with adding a new tag. I tried to add a death tag to an existing person in my dataset. The first thing I noticed is that it does not automatically enter the principal number in the P1 field. When I try to save it, I get a message "The tag must have at least one principal". After I enter the principal's ID and select OK again, I get the message "Both principals assigned to a tag must be from the same data set." I enter "0" and even tried entering an ID number of someone else in the dataset, but it keeps giving me that same message. I only have one dataset in my project.

 

I am running TMG 7.04 Gold Edition.The only thing that has changed recently is that I have Windows 7. Also, my project resides on an external hard drive, but that is not a recent change.
