Adoption Tag-Created by Tim Halvorsen

Recommended Posts

Tim changed the basic sentences for when you only have one parent adopting the child, like when a step parent adopts the child. Thanks Tim for all your hard work.

You can reach him at Tim.Halvorsen@HalvorsenOnline.com

While Tim uses the same roles for each sentence set, if you are going to use all of them, I suggest that you change the role names to show the relationship in the sentence structure. For instance, instead of Adoptee, I would use Adoptedbyfather or Adoptedbymother so that you can tell the different sentences apart.

Adoptee Sentence:

[:CR:][:CR:][R:Adoptee] was adopted <[D]> <[L]> by <[R:adopting father]>< and [R:adopting mother]>.<[R:birth mother] and [R:birth father] were [RS:Adoptee] birth parents.><[M]>

[R:adopting father] <and [R:adopting mother]> adopted [R:Adoptee] <[D]> <[L]>. <[M]>

Adopting Mother Sentence:

[R:adopting mother] <and [R:adopting father]> adopted [R:Adoptee] <[D]> <[L]>. <[M]>

Use this sentence if the child was adopted by the adopting father and possibly the adopting mother.

Birth Father Sentence:

[R:birth father] was [R:Adoptee]'s birth father. [RF:birth father] put his child up for adoption and [RP:Adoptee] was adopted by [R:adopting father] <and [R:adopting mother]><[D]> <[L]>. <[M0]>

Use this sentence if the child was adopted by the adopting mother and possibly the adopting father.

Birth mother Sentence:

[R:birth mother] was [R:Adoptee]'s birth mother. [RF:birth mother] put her child up for adoption and [RP:Adoptee] was adopted by [R:adopting mother] <and [R:adopting father]><[D]> <[L]>. <[M0]>
