Error message: Structure version is missing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Sometimes, when starting TMG, I get the following error message and TMG aborts:

"Struktur-Version fehlt. Nehmen Sie bitte Kontakt mit dem technischen Kundendienst von Wholly Genes auf." (Structure version is missing. Contact tech support for assistance.)

After restarting TMG again, I get the selection form for the database, then everything seems to work ok.

My installed Software: Windows XP with latest updates, German.

TMG 6.11 (but it happened also with earlier versions of TMG 6).

Is there anything I can do?

Regards

Helmut

This is discussed in an earlier topic;

http://www.whollygenes.com/forums201/index...?showtopic=4606

The message is a valid message but why you might get intermittent occurrence has not been resolved yet. Some changes were made in the code and those changes first appear in v6.10.

The users who tested this found that Virginia's suggestions worked to eliminate the intermittent occurrence. Make two Preferences changes.

Preferences / Program Options / Startup and Exit tab

1) Unselect the Show Tips and Hints option

2) Set the 'Check the website for an update every __ days' option to 0 (zero) days.

Thanks, I will try this and eventually send documentation (if it occurs again) to the thread mentioned above.
