Preference Not permanent?

I like to see the age column when I am entering data. I use the preference mode to set it so it will appear but each time I either backup my data or shut down the program, that preference disappears and has to be reset to show the column. I've checked the backup specifications and the preferences option is checked.

 

Is there any way to set that preference up to be permanent?

After you add the age column in Preferences, resave your layout to make the change permanent. If you are using the default Standard layout, you will have to give the layout a new name since you can't make changes to the Standard layout.
