At various times, I've entered my French-Canadian ancestors' surnames into my database both in all caps and mixed. I now see that it's NOT recommended to enter surnames all in capitals. Why is this? How would the software translate LaPorte or Côté into capitalized versions? Can it handle the accents correctly?
Entering French surnames - caps or not?

Names in TMG are recorded as the user enters them. TMG has no facility to convert names between normal mixed case entry and all caps entry.
TMG can display given names and/or surnames in a project that were entered as mixed case as all caps.
Preferences / Current Project Options / General tab / two options towards the bottom
TMG Utility has a feature to convert names entered as all caps to the more normal mixed case form.
