  1. Corrupted backup path and .PJC file

Ray, What drive is the D drive. Is it a CD writer, or DVD writer? I find it is best to backup TMG to my C drive and then move the backup to my CD writer or Flash drive.
  2. Seeing role sentences from UFT

Chuck has some information about UFT roles on his site that might help. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~c...m/uftroles.html
  3. Wish List: location of exhibits in reports

Oh if only! UFT centered them with captions under the images. I would love to be able to say Left, Right or centered, but to have the text wrap correctly would be a dream come true.
  4. Probate Tag

I think it had to do with the fact that many users of older programs only had the death date so they would use the probate record for the death date. Now that we have as many tags as we want, I made the Probate tag under the Other group. If I find the will and the probate, then I make the death date between those two dates.
  5. Seeing role sentences from UFT

Jeff, That will work. Pierce, Just be sure to backup the UK sentences in case you have the same role in both languages and don't like what you see. YOu can edit the txt file created before you import it into TMG.
  6. place names in journal reports

    What is you census sentence?
  7. Primary Non-image Person exhibits? V.6.07

Astrid, How does SS use the Primary Image? I usually just attach images to tags so I am not sure if maybe this was meant so that you could have a video or PDF file at the top of the screen in SS.
  8. Wish List - Prepositions

I use place styles for my prepositions. This might work for you as well. You have to have some way that the places are different to store three places that are basically identical. I put the place style into L10, so that I can sort on place style in the MPL, and so I can be sure I have the right place for the tag.
  9. How to copy and paste an event?

Just copy the tag, then change the ID number to the correct person. IT will disappear from Person A and show up on Person B.
  10. Wish list: Find feature in edit language

Arman, If you type the letters of what you are searching for in, the language file will move to that field. It would be nice to get a help file that told what each field was used for within TMG. Sometimes making changes doesn't do what you think it might.
  11. Need help creating a report

If you attach the exhibits to the TAG, they will print. You might want to try that.
  12. Attaching Exhibits

I agree with John. I attach them to the source, and to a special IMG-tag where they can be printed or not depending on my mood. So I would have: Birth IMG-Birth Marriage IMG-Marriage Death IMG-Death THen if I want to print just marriage images, I can deselect the IMG-Birth and IMG-Death tags.
  13. Need help creating a report

I don't have TMG open right now, but I believe that being a part of a focus group is one of the options for selecting people for a report. If not, just create a temp flag, set it based on the focus group people and then use that flag to print the report.
  14. Need help creating a report

I'd do an individual narrative and include the tags I wanted (use this alot to get a cemetery listing). Use just the baptismal tag, or include the BMDB tags for each person as well. Send to word processor, delete page breaks, and you have your report.
  15. Linking a photo to an place in Master Place List

Not necessarily. I find them useful, when I am working with a cousin. If he wants to see Grandma's house in 1925, then you have a copy to show him. Also at some time in the future, it might become an option and you will be ahead of the game. I mostly attach maps and mark where my ancestors lived, so when I go to another line for a while, I have a visual reminder when I return to that line and place.
  16. Include SSN?

I don't print it because it doesn't seem neccesary, but if I have it, I do store it in TMG. I just see a need for John Smith's Social Security number was 999-99-9999.
  17. Version not accessible under another name

I think this has more to do with the way you have set up XP than TMG. You need to log in as Richard G. and then use TMG from there. Apparently you only gave Richard G the right to use TMG on that computer. I always give it to all users (on my home computer-not using a work network).
  18. Don't pay for printed TMG manual!

Duane, I hope you get your manual soon, but in the meantime, using F1 to go to help will give you the information you need about the particular activity you are trying to preform. I find it easier than the manual since I don't always know where to find things in the manual.
  19. Linking a photo to an place in Master Place List

They do not print from TMG. You can link them to a tag and they will print, but not to the place. Like Lorna says, they will print from SS.
  20. New branches outside the scope of research

I throw them all in there. I figure you might need that research to solve another puzzle at some point in time. But then I have 24,000+ so a few thousand more ain't that big a deal.
  21. MemberMap not working

John, There's plenty of room in Alabama.
  22. Customized Toolbar - Icons

Here is my custom toolbar. The monitor is 17". The buttons are large buttons. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~r...ry/EDDE/TMG.jpg
  23. How do I indicate a person never married?

Well, The main way is just not to create a marriage for them. I created two new people named *** Unmarried with the surname ***. I created a new role in the marriage tag called UNMARRIED. Now when I know for a fact that someone never married, I create a marriage tag for them, use the UNMARRIED Role, and then marry them to *** Unmarried ***. This way it will show in the sibling and children views as them being unmarried.
  24. Customized Toolbar - Icons

Here are mine. I am using large buttons, because I have a hard time seeing the small ones. YOu can easily resize them. I have more, that I will be adding later. YOu may need to resize some of these for use in TMG. Some of these are for custom tags that I have created for my own research needs and aren't in the standard version of TMG> New file uploaded at 10:49 am Thursday September 22 Icons_for_TMG.doc
  25. Working with land records in TMG

You might want to check out my pages at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~r...metery/TMG.html There are some examples of sentences there.
