  1. I started having some issues with the Variation of a name, ie; Mary Harrison, Var: Mary Rynerson. I can see this variation in the Search and on the Reports, but it is not showing on her Details. Any thoughts? I have run all maintenance. I did not see the change, so I added 2 more times before I looked, now she is showing 3x in the search but not in the details.
  2. Death Certificate Information

Perfect, I am making a template to do these tasks Any suggestions for the Capitalization for each new paragraph? I can reword the information template... And playing I realized that I only need to do [M] to accomplish this task I think... PS...Thank you so very much...
  3. I have a lot of information that is now only in the Memo field for a "Death" tag. My question is has anyone made a custom that will let me enter all this on one screen? Date of Death Certificate # Informant (Wife, Husband, Relative, Unknown) Marriage Status at Death Wife's Name Father's Name Father's Place of Birth Mother's Name Mother's Place of Birth Occupation Employer Cause of Death Secondary to Due to Burial Date Cemetery Detail

Let me see, so do not right click the Memo and select the [M1] … just add the two bars between? Ok, I see how that works. But each [CR:] does not produce the capital letter of the next sentence. I will keep playing with this... thank you, the two bars I saw, but did not realize that they were "code" for the Memo. Hard to believe that I have had TMG almost since the beginning and now I decide to figure out all the possibilities! Now it looks like this: The following information was listed on [PFS]Death Certificate # 7053 19582. The Informant was Madolyn Hammock, [R:Informant] [PP] daughter. DOB listed was 4/20/1882 at Utah which does match the birth information previously known for [OBJ]. [PGS] age listed at last birthday was 79 ||[PP] last Occupation was a Smoker, at Armour Packing Co., a Meat Packing business or industry for 25 years ||[PFS] SS# was 505-05-6686.[PF] did not serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. ||[SP] was Widowed at [PP] time of death. The last address [PP] lived at was 1038 West 62nd Street, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. ||[SPP] father was listed as John Phillips, born in Ireland and [PP] mother was listed as Elizabeth Ann Hewitson, born in England. [PAR] matches previous data. || [SPP] cause of Death was Sepsis, due to long standing recumbentcy, with underlying cause of right cerebral artery thrombosis. An Operation was performed on 10/11/1961 that was not part of the cause of death. An Autopsy was not performed. ||[SP]was buried/cremated on 10/14/1961, at Memory Garden Memorial Cemetery, in Brea, California. ||Notes: ||There are pictures of [OBJ] on my website www.xxxxxxx.com Individual Narrative looks like this:
  5. Death Certificate Information

Terry, I have one Source, a Death Certificate. From that one Source I can gather a wealth of information that I currently have to do individual "Tags" for each bit... ie: Birth, Address, Occupation etc. I wanted one screen to enter all the information, not necessarily into the proper "Tags" or in the "Source", but more as a document for the Individual Narrative of a person. The Memo field seems like it might work if I can figure out how to use the Variables inside the [M1], [M2]… I have searched your tips and it still has not hit me what I am doing wrong for the output I am desiring.
  6. Death Certificate Information

I totally understand your method here. I was hoping for my own Narrative to get something more like a "full record" without having to use the Exhibit. I have the idea in mind, just not how to make it happen Trying to use the [M1]…[M9] in the Memo I can get the information this far... but can not get the expected results from the Preview. I am sure there is something simple to my errors as this is my first attempt to do such a thing in TMG. As a discussion of "How to do something like this" I appreciate any input This is what I want to end up with...the highlighted text is what I want TMG to supply. I found that out Hoping to avoid so many different tag entries for each one document.
  8. I have over the years put exhibits into the person view as external links... Then call me crazy I resorted my folders on the computer and now all exhibits are frowny faces... I know I can delete one at a time, but is there a faster way? Over 6000...
  9. Bulk Deleting of Missing Exhibits

Jim, I tried to do the new project, did not work, the program starts to load and then just goes away, no error... Both are the "I" (eye) files?
  10. Missing Exhibits

Jim, can you tell me how to edit the exhibit table? I , crazy beginner years ago, put thousands of exhibits into my work. Now after changing folders they are all missing and I really don't want to "reconnect" them. I just want them gone. I tried the Validate File Integrity, the program just hangs...
  11. Bulk Deleting of Missing Exhibits

Surely there is an SQL file or something to just "bulk delete" the entries?
  12. I am trying to get a sentence to include multiple people in a picture so that I only have to enter the information once, and on one person and not have to do the "Memo" description I have created a new tag "Image" with a Role of "InPic" The sentence structure is this: This picture is [P1], [P2], <and [W]> <[D]> <[L]> <[M]> The output is this: This picture is Edward William Pierce Jr, Jean Love Pierce, Jennifer Diane Pierce in Feb 2004 in Jennifers House, Lake Sammamish, Washington This picture was taken at Jennifers house.L-R: Les, Jen, Susan, Steve, Debbie, Front: Edward (Ted) and Jean (Love) Pierce. My question is how to get the sentence to include ALL witnesses in the output like this for any of their "Person" view.: This picture is Edward William Pierce Jr, Jean Love Pierce, and Jennifer Diane Pierce, Deborah Lynn Pierce, Suzan Elaine Pierce and Stephan Michael Pierce in Feb 2004 in Jennifers House, Lake Sammamish, Washington This picture was taken at Jennifers house. This seems to be the best I an come up with... [P1] <and [P2]> <[D]> <[L]><Others included are: [WO]><[M]> Edward William Pierce Jr and Jean Love Pierce in 02/ /2004 in Jennifers House, Lake Sammamish, Washington Others included are: Jennifer Diane Pierce, Deborah Lynn Pierce, Suzan Elaine Pierce and Stephan Michael Pierce.
  13. I know, I know. . . I messed up big time. My TMG did not have a backup so I used the last one I could find from years ago. Then I downloaded my Ancestry ged file and merged it. . . Worked on it some more and merged it again. Now I have thousands of duplicates. . . Is there any easier way than 1 by 1 deleting? I should add that most are "orphan" names, no information just a name. I tried to see if I could use Explorer to sort them out but can not get any results.
