Thanks, Sheila! Good suggestions. -
Is there a way I can add a field so that I can enter Find-a-Grave memorial identification numbers to the individuals in my database?

That is what my marriage sentence says. Is there something I'm not checking in the options for a Journal Report? Thank you for your help. -

Journal Report - include spouse's death date
patsy replied to patsy's topic in Older Products and Versions
Thank you very much! It's displaying now! Is this a change in v7 that you can only include spouse events if you choose 'custom'? The spouse is a wife, to make the paragraph below clearer. Her events display at the bottom of her husband's information, which includes a biography tag. Is there a way to move her information up to the first paragraph (after her husband's b, d, m information? The biography tags would then display after that. It would be really tedious to have to cut and paste this when I do reports. Patsy -
My Journal Report is set to "Record" style. I want the spouse's death date to be included in the report. Here is how the text is currently generated: 1. Valentine William1 Miller was born on 30 April 1846 at Washington County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Virginia "Sally" Byerly, daughter of David Byerly and Phoebe Lawrence Wise, in 1871 at Lewiston, Washington County, Tennessee. He died on 28 July 1925 at National City, San Diego County, California, at age 79. I recently updated computers and also updated to v 7. I could do this before, but can't figure out how to set the options. THANKS for your help

Best Practice for adding people whose first or last or both names are unknown
patsy replied to patsy's topic in Older Products and Versions
Thanks, Mike. Good system. -
You can't do blockquotes in TMG, but you can set the blockquote by selecting the desired text, like an obit, in your word processor and then move the left & right margins to where you want them. So, you set the overall page margins to whatever you want, and then you can use the rulers at the top (in Word) to set up the blockquotes. The blockquotes look much nicer than just indenting more on the left (but not right margins). Also, using the rulers helps to avoid formatting problems. Hope this helps.

AMEN! These repeaters are called "redundant" ancestors. This feature is also something I have wanted for a long time. I formally used Ultimate Family Tree (developed from Roots 3), and you could indicate how you wanted redundant ancestors treated in the report options. You're so right about the numbers getting all messed up if you try to delete people. The "redundant" ancestor handling feature in printed reports is really important!
