patsy 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2010 Is there a way I can add a field so that I can enter Find-a-Grave memorial identification numbers to the individuals in my database?
altenbernd 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2010 You could create a custom tag for this and enter the identification number in the memo field. Or if you use the Find A Grave information as a source, you could create a source element for the ID number or put it in the citation details. Michael Hannah 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2010 I have a custom "Electronic Database" Source type for this. Its templates are: Full Footnote: [iTAL:][TITLE][:ITAL], online at http://, cited as "[sHORT TITLE]"<.> Short Footnote: "[sHORT TITLE]"<.> Bibliography: [iTAL:][TITLE][:ITAL], online at <.>. [REPOSITORY]<.> If I want to "lump" sources, then I don't put anything in the optional [sUBTITLE] field. But if I want to "split" sources, then I put something like "Sark, Samuel, Memorial Stone" in that field. As an example of a "lumped" source entry: Title: Find A Grave Search Site Short Title: Find A Grave URL: http://www.findagrave.com/ Source Supplemental Comments: Site provides cemetery information and photographs of grave memorials Repository is myself with the Repository reference: Search results downloaded An example CD would be: cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29607778 Saint John's Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, Plot: Section 48; Created by: Doug Lindsey, Record added: Sep 05, 2008, Find A Grave Memorial# 29607778 and the CM: Memorial stone reads: Samuel Sark, Dec. 23, 1853, Feb. 27, 1931 Which produces a Full Footnote of: Find A Grave Search Site, online at http://www.findagrave.com/, cited as "Find A Grave", cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29607778 Saint John's Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, Plot: Section 48; Created by: Doug Lindsey, Record added: Sep 05, 2008, Find A Grave Memorial# 29607778. Memorial stone reads: Samuel Sark, Dec. 23, 1853, Feb. 27, 1931 A Short Footnote of: "Find A Grave", cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=29607778 Saint John's Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, Plot: Section 48; Created by: Doug Lindsey, Record added: Sep 05, 2008, Find A Grave Memorial# 29607778. Memorial stone reads: Samuel Sark, Dec. 23, 1853, Feb. 27, 1931 And gives the Bibliography entry of: Find A Grave Search Site, online at http://www.findagrave.com/. Search results downloaded. Private holdings, Michael J. Hannah, Los Ranchos, New Mexico. Site provides cemetery information and photographs of grave memorials. I will cite this source to many tags, such as Birth, Death, Burial, but will also download and link a copy of the memorial stone photo as an external exhibit to the Burial tag. Hope this gives you ideas,
