rlgleason51 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 (TMG 7.04. WinXP sp3 32bit) I assumed, that when recording mtDNA information, I would enter the Cambridge Reference Sequence, modifying as needed based on my mutations. However, the results of my HVR2 test include two insertions, which makes the relevant sequence string too long for the space provided in the mtDNA log (the insertions happen to be in the same string, but one insertion requires more sapce than provided). Am I using the DNA log as it was intended or should I be recording the mtdna information some othe way? Thanks.
Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2009 You just enter the loci that differ from the CRS using the notation seen in this site. You don't enter any base-pair sequences. http://www.roperld.com/mtdna.htm For example... HVR1 16129A 16223T etc. HVR2 73G 199C 203A etc. The web page shows the various types of notations for changes, insertions, deletions.
