"COMPENDIUM OF NEW ENGLAND PIONEERS" (14 titles)

If purchased separately: $262.30

Regular bundle price: $89.95 (66% off)

SALE PRICE: $71.96 (20% more off)

The COMPENDIUM OF NEW ENGLAND PIONEERS is one of our most popular data CD titles -- and for good reason! It contains 14 classic books for researchers of New England settlers and they can all be searched at the same time using powerful full-text search features like AND, OR, phrase and proximity searches. For instance, you can search all 14 books for any pages that contain the surnames BALDWIN and DENISON within 10 words of each other. Try that with any subscription-based search engine!

Every professional researcher of New England families is likely to have these 14 classic works on his or her bookshelf. But now you can have them all one one searchable CD at a fraction of the cost:

o John Osborne Austin, "The Genealogical Dictionary of Rhode Island; Comprising Three Generations of Settlers Who Came Before 1690 (With Many Families Carried to the Fourth Generation)" (1887).

o Charles Knowles Bolton, "The Real Founders of New England: Stories of Their Life Along the Coast, 1602-1628" (1929).

o Samuel G. Drake, "Result of Some Researches Among the British Archives for Information Relative to the Founders of New England: Made in the Years 1858, 1859 and 1860" (1860).

o John Eliot, "A Biographical Dictionary Containing a Brief Account of the First Settlers, and Other Prominent Characters Among the Magistrates, Ministers, Literary and Worthy Men, in New-England" (1809).

o John Farmer, "A Genealogical Register of the First Settlers of New England" (1829).

o Ernest Flagg, "Genealogical Notes on the Founding of New England: My Ancestors Part in that Undertaking" (1926).

o Nathaniel Goodwin, "Genealogical Notes, or Contributions to the Family History of Some of the First Settlers of Connecticut and Massachusetts" (1856).

o Royal R. Hinman, "A Catalogue of the Names of the Early Puritan Settlers of the Colony of Connecticut; with the Time of Their Arrival in the Country and Colony, Their Standings in Society, Place of Residence, Condition in Life, Where From, Business, &c" (1852).

o Frank R. Holmes, "Directory of the Ancestral Heads of New England Families, 1620-1700" (1923).

o Sybil Noyes, Charles T. Libby, and Walter G. Davis, "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire", 6 volumes, (1928-1939).

o Charles Henry Pope, "The Pioneers of Massachusetts" (1900).

o Charles Henry Pope, "The Pioneers of Maine and New Hampshire" (1908).

o James Savage, "A Genealogical Dictionary of The First Settlers of New England," 4 volumes, (1860-1862).

o Wilbur D. Spencer, "Pioneers on Maine Rivers with Lists to 1651" (1930).

These titles are so recognizable to New England researchers that they are often simply referred to by the last name of the author. Imagine searching Eliot, Farmer, Hinman, Goodwin, Drake, Savage, Austin, Pope (2), Holmes, Flagg, Noyes, Bolton, and Spencer -- all at the same time from the convenience of a single CD!

The 14 titles comprise 22 volumes, nearly 8300 pages, and thousands of families of early New England settlers through several generations. If purchased separately, they would cost $262.30 (or more in the unlikely event that you could still find them in paper). Our regular bundle price is just $89.95 but for the next 30 days only you get it for just $71.96 -- an additional 20% off.

FREE BONUS: The CD-ROM also contains nine high-quality digital maps of the New England Settlement (1629, 1637, 1660, 1675, 1677, 1713, 1754, 1781, and 1812) as originally published in The Expansion of New England by Lois Kimball Mathews (1909).

The COMPENDIUM OF NEW ENGLAND PIONEERS makes a great gift for anyone who researches early New England families.

The following downloadable data CDs from Archive CD Books USA are now available from WhollyGenes.com:

VIRGINIA AND VIRGINIANS, 2 VOLUMES, (1888) 2008.

$14.95 http://www.WhollyGenes.com/find_wg.mvc?ref...amp;p=US0368-DL

This two-volume history focuses on individual Virginians and is replete with sketches of local individuals (see list of localities at the end of this description), detailing not only theirs and their wife’s and children’s places and dates of birth, but often providing information on previous generations and places of origin. These sketches are rich in information helpful in both scaling "brick walls" and adding depth to the story of one’s ancestors (and the ability to search the full document means the reader won’t miss information). (more...)

Bishop Davenport, A NEW GAZETTEER OR GEOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY OF NORTH AMERICA AND THE WEST INDIES, (1838) 2008.

$12.95 http://www.WhollyGenes.com/find_wg.mvc?ref...amp;p=US0350-DL

Gazetteers can be useful tools providing researchers with the location of long extinct places or descriptions of what still extant places were like at an earlier time. They also frequently contain additional items of interest in the hope of enticing purchases. Davenport’s Gazetteer includes lists of current benevolent societies, colleges, theological and medical schools and British slave colonies in the West Indies as well as lists of principle roads with the mileage between towns and routes of steamboats and principle canals and railroads (finished or in progress) giving their length and consequently allowing us to determine whether they might have served as a migration route for our ancestors. (more...)

George H. Morgan, ANNALS COMPRISING MEMOIRS, INCIDENTS, AND STATISTICS OF HARRISBURG (PA) FROM THE PERIOD OF ITS FIRST SETTLEMENT, (1858) 2008.

$14.95 http://www.WhollyGenes.com/find_wg.mvc?ref...amp;p=US0230-DL

Composed of a series of sketches of events and subjects ranging from a single paragraph to a number of pages this volume presents the history of Harrisburg through the eyes of those who experienced it. Drawing from historical records and accounts of events described by its older citizens, the book is divided into three sections. The first section which details the early history of Harrisburg draws from historical accounts, documents, letters and other public records. Newspapers provided advertisements of land for sale or rent, obituaries, announcements of various events and the results of elections. (more...)

$19.95 http://www.WhollyGenes.com/find_wg.mvc?ref...amp;p=US0217-DL

This early entry in the Who's Who series contains nearly thirteen thousand sketches for prominent, living residents of the six New England states, each incorporating in brief compass data on occupation, education, family, religious affiliation and professional, cultural and military accomplishments. This book was an offshoot of the broader Who's Who in America series, which provided nearly three thousand of the sketches for the present volume, to which another ten thousand new sketches were added. Inclusion in this volume was based on invitation from the editor. (more...)

$12.95 http://www.WhollyGenes.com/find_wg.mvc?ref...amp;p=US0603-DL

The loss of the 1890 census has created a road block in the work of many researchers. City directories are helpful in overcoming this loss. Another, and often overlooked source, is university and college alumni directories. In November 1912, Ohio University published this third edition of its triennial Alumni Register. According to the introduction, although the teaching staff was omitted was this issue, it was expanded to include an alphabetical and geographical list of former students. Graduates are listed by college and class and thereunder alphabetically. (more...)
