dreward 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Up to now I have only used Chartform for incidental printing of small Ancestor and Descendant trees. Now I have to make a 12 generation chart for a family member and I have noticed an annoying - to me - oddity which I don't seem to be able to be rid of so hope someone can help me solve the problem. In any box one first has the subjects name and then the BDM dates - all well and good but if I should want to add locations, quite normal, to these dates then the progran seems to automatically determine that a new line is needed, ie: Joe Bloggs b.22 May 1798 Nether Exe d.14 Oct 1845 Nether Exe m. 2 Jan 1823 Nether Exe What I would like to do is: Joe Bloggs b.22 May 1798 Nether Exe d.14 Oct 1845 Nether Exe m. 2 Jan 1823 Nether Exe Not only is this going to save space but to me looks far neater. Can this be done? My thanks Dave
RobinL 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2009 Dave, In Chart Options, on the Data Types tab, the default contents for the various box types employs 2 data lines per Birth Death or Marriage. For each Box Type you need to delete these and re-select the compound data line for each event. That is, replace Birth* Group Abbr Date Birth* Group PlacePrep Place by the single entry Birth* Group Abbr Date PlacePrep Place You will need to do a similar action on all Marriage and Death data lines. BTW: In such cases I usually set Place Preposition to (blank) on the same tab.
