Tag Label Colors and Witnessed Events

I had been looking forward to the new Tag Label Colors in TMG v8 (and I do like the feature), however after working for a while I have at least one concern. Whenever someone is added to a tag as a witness, a witness tag appears in the details window of this witness. By default (and without tag label colors enabled) this witness tag is colored grey with yellow text. I like this because it quickly lets me isolate those tags in which the person isn't a primary, but rather simply a witness to an event. However, as soon as I enable Tag Label colors this default witness coloring disappears and it instead takes the colors of the tag that the witness is associated with. This seems inconsistent to me because the witness isn't itself a primary in the event that the tag describes. I would instead like the witnesses to preserve the grey with yellow text color, while the primary (or primaries) gets the defined tag label color. I though perhaps it was possible to specify a different tag label color for witnessed events, however this seems not to be possible.

 

But just to make sure, my question is: is it possible to enable Tag Label Colors while either preserving or defining a separate tag label color for witnesses?

This is covered. In the Person View / Tag Box, when tag label colors are enabled, the tag label color applies to the Type column and the witness color applies to the Date and Sort Date columns so you get both.

Thanks alot Jim. I'll have to try it again then, last time I tried it the yellow on grey disappeared completely once I enabled tag label colors (the column was the original black text on white background) and the tag appeared in the specified color. But if I can get mine to look like your screenshot above that would be fantastic.

I had exactly this same question. However, just to be sure because I do not know if I understood the mechanics:

It is not possible to have different colors for e.g. baptism principal and baptism witness on the type column, being the difference on the date column.
