treadway@netins.net 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2013 A decade or so ago, I imported a large Roots III database into TMG V. At that time I elected not to generate married names for married women. Now I need to fix that. I now have TMG 8.08. I've not used the filtering and reporting functions much. Is there a way to fix this automatically? Or alternatively, is ther a way to generate a list of women lacking married names for marriages? I have used Project Explorer to filter for Sex=F, and # of Marriage group tags > 0, and # of Name Group tags < 2. This list has about 5800 results in a database with 43800 or so people. But the list includes many women whose husbands do not have surnames because they lived in places and times where ethey were not used, and it omits women who married twice and have only one marrried name. If a woman has a nickname, she will be left out of this one, too, I think. Can someone show me how to make a list of marriages in which the groom has a surname but the bride does not have a corresponding married name? Many thanks! Jim Byram 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2013 Use TMG Utility to add the married names. It's a good idea to first remove all Name-Marr tags and then add them for a uniform result. http://www.johncardinal.com/tmgutil/
