Unlinking a child from a mother

I'm trying out the 30 day trial version and I can't discover how to unlink a child from the wrong mother.

I'm trying out the 30 day trial version and I can't discover how to unlink a child from the wrong mother.

There are several answers here depending on what you want to do.

1) If the correct mother is already in the data set, you can simply correct the relationship tag.

 

From the daughter's Person View, double-click on the 'Mother' label by the primary mother's name and correct the mother's ID number.

From the mother's Person View, double-click the Dau-Bio tag to open it and correct the mother's ID number.

 

2) If the correct mother is not in the data set, you could delete the relationship tag.

 

From the daughter's Person View, click the 'Mother' label next to the primary mother's name and right-click and select 'Delete this tag'.

From the mother's Person View, click the Dau-Bio tag and right-click and select 'Delete this tag'.

 

You can then use Add Person from the daughter's Person View to add the new correct mother.

 

This just scratches the surface. There are many different ways to accomplish what you want to do in TMG.
